None of this is possible, however, without the right talent in the right place. One of the most exciting elements at Choura is our gifted executive team and talented staff. We are all committed to bringing the right products and services in the right way to the right event.

We know that our success depends on our accessibility, flexibility, and ingenuity – both our clients and our guests need to feel comfortable in our ability to handle the focus and flow of their events with style and ease. We get that at the end of the day it’s about whether or not people truly enjoyed themselves.

When Ryan Choura took over the reins of Choura Venue Services in 2003, he knew two things; he wanted to expand the range of services the company offered, and he wanted to shake things up and bring fresh energy and ideas to the event industry.

In 2005 he began steering the company in new directions. In 2007 Choura purchased the event rental/tent design company Anza, and followed with the purchase of Bixby Knolls Party Rentals in 2008.

As of 2009 Ryan oversees eight event companies under the Choura Venue Services umbrella with a combined staff of over 225 employees. He prides himself in his ability to spot and nurture the most talented people to ensure that both his employees and clients feel their value and importance.

Ryan is an avid golfer, surfs, and is committed to community service, belonging to several local civic and non-profit organizations. A dynamic and talented speaker, Ryan gives motivational talks to local High School students on how to make smart decisions for their futures.

Jim Choura, who represents the company in the EALB, has been a Member since 1976 for the El Dorado Park Golf Course & Event Center and most recently, 2010, now represents the company for Choura Events. 

Jim is a mentor to Choura Venue Services. His belief in embracing a positive culture of people, his passion to deliver quality food and beverage products, and his gift to transform any location to offer its maximum potential has been essential in the company’s development.

His commitment to the Service Industry comes from an inherited family trade. First established in the early 1900’s in Chicago-based Meat Markets, today he extends his family of brands into hospitality properties in Southern California.

James J. Choura has won numerous recognitions for his nourished community relations.

New Program - 2011 Member Hosted Events

The Business Promotion Committee and the Board of Directors have approved a new Program for our 2011 Calendar Year.

• Once a Quarter in February, May, August and November of 2011 a Member may choose to have an early evening/Open House at their Location.
• This event will happen on a Monday evening and will take the place of a lunch meeting and Members who attend will receive credit for meeting.
• The Association will supply the Member hosting the event an amount that would have been spent on our lunch meeting for use for their event.

Changes to the Book Signing Program – Effective Today.  This information will be in the Riptide for the next several weeks to refer to. 

On-Line vs. At-Location Book Signing

• Member chooses if Online or Location book signing
• If Online - $50.00 Jackpot and regular Jackpot is on hold
• If someone wins they win the $50.00
• If no one wins the Online Jackpot does not increase.
• If the next person chooses Online Book signing it remains at $50.00.
• If next person chooses Location Book signing it reverts back to Regular Jackpot

• Not at Meeting and DID NOT SIGN the book - $10.00 Fine (Being Reviewed by the Board)
