Welcome to the Executives Association of Long Beach Member Directory

The long standing slogan of the association has been "Business is our Business". The Executives Association of Long Beach (EALB) was founded in 1922. It is an association of Long Beach business executives, each of whom represents his or her respective firm at the management level.

The Long Beach Executives Association is a member of the International Executives Association, a worldwide group of similar associations. It is not a service club, a social group or fraternal order. The EALB is a networking group for business owners and high level executives. It has but one unique objective: to capture the natural bond of common interest which exists between business executives and by regular weekly meetings, develop and enjoy a brand of fellowship conducive to the creation of additional and profitable business for all its members.

It does not require its members to patronize each other, but it does provide opportunities for each member to promote their products or services and it can open doors that otherwise are closed to desired business. Members of the EALB often consider the association as an extension of their own business or profession.

On Monday, July 8th the Executives Association of Long Beach met for their weekly luncheon to hear from Lori VandenBerg of New York Life.

New York Life is largest mutual life insurance company in the U.S. As a mutual company they are fully aligned with their policy owners and not Wall Street. For nearly 175 years, New York Life has delivered on the promise to be there for their policyholders and remain true to their mission as a mutual company.

Lori VandenBerg was born and raised in Bellflower, California. She earned her Bachelors in Accounting from Azusa Pacific University. Lori has been in Life Insurance for over 20 years, the last 15 years with New York Life. Lori is married and has a daughter.

Lori’s talk focused on her company, New York Life, and why it is important to have life insurance. New York Life started in 1845 and ranked number 71 on the Fortune 500 list. They also have the highest financial strength ratings currently awarded to any U.S. life insurer from all four major credit ratings agencies. New York life has 26 different policies to accommodate any client and guarantees their policies.

Life Insurance is not something most people want to talk about or discuss when they are healthy, Lori explained. Injuries, illness, and death are things that usually aren’t planned and you want to be prepared for when it happens. Life Insurance gives your family the protection they need when life events unexpectedly happens. Life Insurances policies could cover heath and funeral expenses and help with your families bills when you are gone. Life insurance could even help pay estate taxes for more wealthy families. To protect businesses that have partners, life insurance policies could protect their business if one of their partners passes away. When you get a life insurance policy you are locked in.

Lori at New York Life takes all referrals especially young families, business owners, and people who haven’t looked at their policy in a while. Working with Lori gives you the value of having an agent that knows you and your needs.
